Manfred von Richthofen was the top-scoring fighter ace of the First World War with 80 kills to his score by the time of his last flight in 1918 when he was eventually shot down. He had ‘star quality’ and he commanded respect from his enemies as much as from his fellow airmen. Published with twelve plates, this is believed to be a first edition of the renowned biography by "Vigilant" from 1934.
