The Mersey Docks & Harbour Board regularly published charts of the River Mersey throughout most of its existence (1858-1972). This 1936 chart was in use during the Second World War and contains small corrections up to the end of 1945. It covers the Mersey from Eastham to New Brighton on the Cheshire shore ; and from Garston to Gladstone Dock on the Lancashire shore. The survey was carried out by Captain H. V. Hart, RNR.
