MLRS, Buxton, 1st ed., 2012. Xiv + 238 pp., photo-plates. D.j., 24 x 16cm. New Copy ; MINT. Born in the late 1950s, the author joined the Army as a junior Soldier in the Junior Leaders Regiment, Royal Engineers. After eighteen months training he passed out and joined a UK based RE Squadron before volunteering for the Army Dog Unit, RAVC. His experiences with this unit are the subject of this book – along with his dog Stumpy who was drafted into the Royal Army Veterinary Corps and trained as an Arms Explosive Search dog in the late seventies. This book originally appeared as a series of short articles on ARRSE (The website of the Army Rumour Service) and their humour and content received so much acclaim that they were published as a collection here.
