See No. 58 above. ) First published in 1937, with a third edition in 1944, a fourth in 1948 and finally a fifth in 1955, this book was designed for young Royal Navy officers who wished to learn more about Naval Court Martial procedure. The entire stock of both the first & second editions ' less one copy ' was destroyed in a German air raid on Plymouth. The work is divided into three parts : (1) Chronological Outline ' 5 chapters. (2) Hearing Witnesses : Evidence, Prosecuting and Defending ' 4 chapters. (3) Practical Notes ' 3 chapters. Written by the author whilst serving in HMS CARLISLE on the Africa station in 1935.
