He entered the Royal Navy in 1942 serving in NELSON in the Mediterranean, GLASGOW during the D-Day Landings, and KEPPEL on Russian convoy duty. He qualified as a pilot and flew with 800 Squadron in the Korean War and from 1968-1970 he was Captain of the carrier EAGLE. He retired from the Navy in 1977 and began a varied business career. In this autobiography he describes these and many other events in his very active life. He was also at the centre of the Westland affair and gives a frank description of this major political drama.
