One of Woodman's successful naval works of fiction featuring his 'hero', Captain Nathaniel Drinkwater R.N., with this story, divided into three parts concerning the blockade of the French coast, the break-out of the French fleet and its dash to Cadiz to join forces with the Spanish ; Calder's action, and finally Nelson's success in bringing the combined enemy fleet to action 20 miles from Cadiz off Cape Trafalgar on the 21st October 1805.
