is on back order
Stroud, 1st ed., 2007. 192 pp., frontis., -map + numerous photo-ills., + some plans. P.c., 25 x 17cm. FINE. The second of a three-part series, complete in itself, this volume covers an area of Wales that could be described as Coastal Command country, for that was the main contribution of this area to the history of Welsh wartime activity. It plots the history of the airfields involved in operations such as anti-aircraft artillery schooling and the training of aircrews at Templeton and Haverfordwest, who would then go on to join the operational crews manning four-engine aircraft that were to not only serve stations like St David’s or Pembroke Dock but also protect the convoys in the Bristol and St George’s Channels.
