Captain Walker was the greatest U-boat hunter of the Second World War, his famous group of ships based in Liverpool headed up by HMS STARLING took the offensive out into the North Atlantic and sought out Hitler's U-boats. He destroyed more enemy submarines than any other officer in the British or Allied navies, the strain of which brought about his early death in 1944. This is the story of the man, his Second Support Group, and the drama of the hunt, chase and kill in his campaign to rid the Atlantic of the menace of the U-boats.
