A celebration of the first 50 years of a famous Swedish shipping line, Stena, was established the year the Second World War broke out - 1939. However, they did not enter shipowning until 1946 when they purchased the three-masted auxiliary schooner DAN, a vessel that went "missing presumed lost" in 1953. This book, profusely illustrated with photographs, many in colour, begins by telling the story of Stena Line and ends with an Illustrated Fleet List with details of almost 300 vessels from passenger ships to tankers ; and from a variety of cargo ships to tugs and offshore supply vessels. Details of the entire Stena fleet are given.
