The history of Hull's famous Wilson Line, founded by Thomas Wilson in 1831 and subsequently purchased by Sir John Ellerman in 1916 to be re-named Ellerman's Wilson Line. The authors trace its story under family ownership with sections on ports of call, ships lost in both World Wars, shipwrecks, etc. The book contains a Fleet List supported by more than a hundred photographs, etc., some in colour. The Ellerman Wilson Line operated a large fleet of ocean-going passenger and cargo ships as well short-sea vessels.
