2nd imp., 1964. 272 pp., 18 photo-plates. Blue cloth; 22 x 14cm. Small bumps to corners & top of spine o/w V.G. This is the story of a revolution in Nazi Germany which centred around a conspiracy to assassinate Hitler and overthrow the Nazi government. It almost succeeded and had it done so the war itself would have been shortened by the best part of a year, countless lives and much property would have been saved, and in all probability the shape of modern Europe would have been different from what it is now. This book was based on the most current records, many of which had not previously been published, and at the time of its writing it was the most complete account of the attempted assassination on Hitler's life, and the men behind it, that failed in July, 1944.
