Darman, Peter.

1st ed., 1993. 192 pp., numerous cold., + b&w ills. D.j., 24 x 19cm. FINE. This book lists all the small arms and support weapons used by SAS soldiers since 1941. It also lists the numerous types of aircraft, boats and vehicles that are used to transport SAS soldiers to and from their objective. In addition, the book contains information on the communications and backup equipment employed by the regiment's soldiers. The book looks in particular at how the weapons and equipment have performed in combat; which have been most effective; and how, in spite of manifest disadvantages, many have qualities that make them essential for a certain task. Above all, the book concentrates on the hardware used in action. Profusely illustrated with photographs.
