Mant, Gilbert.

1st ed., 1944. 191 pp. Original boards; ¼ green cloth; 19 x 12cm. 2 tiny nicks along rear joint; spine faded o/w V.G. Published in 1944, this book paints a picture of the Second A.I.F. in World War II, and especially of the forgotten 8th Division. The author served as a soldier in the 8th Australian Division in Malaya and then returned to Australia for an appointment as a war correspondent. He subsequently returned to Malaya upon the entry of the Japanese and reported the campaign until his escape in 1942. This book offers an interesting insight into the war surrounding Malaya and Java.
