Miller, William H.

1st.ed., 1988. 191 pp., profusely illustrated with photographs. 26 x 20cm. FINE. The author traces the rise of the cruise ship industry over a period of 25 years from the early 1960’s to the late 1980’s. He describes and illustrates cruise ships from both famous and obscure cruise lines, with sections on the cruise ships of Great Britain, USA, Scandinavia, Germany, Holland, Italy, Greece, Soviet Russia, those under Flags of Convenience, plus vessels operating in Pacific waters as well as a miscellany of owners from China to Turkey. Illustrated with many photographs, this is largely a period when old liners were adapted for cruising rather than the purpose-built cruise ships of today. CRUISE SHIPS FROM THE 1960’S TO THE 1980’S.
