This is the personal story the author whose varied experience in the RAF took him from Iraq and India to Norway with his Blenheim squadron. It portrays him captured during a reconnaissance flight over the Battle of France, then as a night-fighter wing during the Battle of Britain. Later the author served with the Desert Air Force during the 8th Army’s offensive in 1941 before going on to command Number 2 Group, and finally, he helped rebuild Britain's air defences.
