The book begins with an essay entitled The Immortal Memory that graphically traces the development of the Nelson legend since 1805. Essays then follow on Nelson portraits, relics, commemorative material, Nelsonian sites, monuments, letters, and the ‘Top Twenty’ biographies, and collections of published letters. Contributors to the book include the late Tom Pocock, and Lady Hamilton’s biographer, Flora Fraser. Illustrated with 13 coloured plates and 102 other photographs.
