Published a year before the outbreak of war in 1914, this edition of Lloyd's Register of Yachts provides a wealth of information on the vessels and yachting circles of the day, including the main feature giving details of thousands of steam & motor yachts and an even greater number of sailing yachts of the world. The 63 pages of flags in full colour provide 1,888 examples of Distinguishing Flags of individual Yachts, etc. There are numerous additional features – including a list of Sailing & Yacht Clubs, list of Owners, etc., Pre-First World War Yacht Registers are particularly scarce owing to the rule imposed by Lloyd's demanding the return of the old book before a new one could be issued. Editions for 1914 and 1915 appeared but no other wartime editions were published. LLOYD'S REGISTER OF YACHTS FOR A YEAR BEFORE THE OUTBREAK OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR. SCARCE.
