He tells how he led 602 Squadron in the Battle of Britain, served in Malta in 1942, helped to found the Royal Malayan Air Force in 1957 and was made Commander of the Air Forces in Borneo in 1964. He gives the first full account of the Duke of Hamilton’s role in the Rudolf Hess episode in 1941; and describes his tour of duty in the War Room of the Allied Expeditionary Air Force just before D-Day.
